About AEA

Michelle Hinebrook, Director and Instructor at AEA.

Michelle is our lead instructor and she holds an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art and BFA from the College for Creative Studies. She has been teaching as an Adjunct Professor, for MFA Students at Pratt Institute since 2007, plus she brings over 21 years of teaching artist experience in NYC to AEA. Michelle specializes in a diverse range of mediums.

Students and the Application Process

  • 7th and 8th grade students applying to NYC High Schools with specialized art programs. Portfolios are crucial for eighth-grade HS applicants, showcasing their artistic strengths and potential for high school.

  • 9th through 12th grade students applying for Art or Design BFA degree programs. We assist high school students in developing a competitive portfolio tailored to meet the specific requirements of their desired schools.
